Background

Set along the golden coastline of Yanbu, Saudi Arabia, the Yanbu Beach Club redefines seaside leisure through architecture that celebrates movement, light, and the natural beauty of the Red Sea. Commissioned by AWN Enterprises, the project reflects a deep understanding of coastal living and sustainable waterfront development.

More than a resort, the Beach Club is envisioned as a sanctuary for adventure and restoration. Guests can sail, dive, or simply unwind on sunlit terraces where the rhythm of the sea sets the pace. Inspired by the geometry of waves and the sculptural forms of the desert, the design invites people to reconnect with the elements, blending luxury with environmental harmony. Each visit becomes a story of discovery, part of Yanbu’s broader transformation into a destination for sustainable architecture and coastal regeneration along the Red Sea.

Process

The design celebrates regional craftsmanship, durability, and a light environmental footprint. Locally sourced stone, timber, and lime render echo the textures of the coast, while natural ventilation and shaded courtyards ensure comfort in the desert climate. Every transition, from the shaded arrival court to the open terraces above the sea, has been shaped to create fluid movement and a sense of calm.

The result is a design that combines elegance with flood-resilient planning, ensuring longevity while staying in tune with its setting.

Architecture

Architecturally, the Yanbu Beach Club is a dialogue between land, water, and light. Elevated walkways and permeable landscaping reduce flood impact and preserve natural drainage, while sculpted canopies frame panoramic views of the Red Sea. Throughout the day, sunlight dances across the pathways, transforming the experience of space and shadow. Each curve, arch, and aperture has been designed to respond to the wind, the water, and the human journey through the site.

The result is a tranquil yet dynamic example of water architecture that embodies our vision for sustainable coastal design, a place where nature and modern living exist in perfect balance.
