As leading specialists Baca have combined their research into water-related architecture into an overarching thesis and new architectural typology called Aquatecture. Baca have presented their research around the world from the World Water Forum in Mexico City, to the Netherlands, Paris, Jakarta and New Orleans. Aquatecture is a water-centric approach to design in which flood-risk management, development pressure and adaptation to climate change are simultaneously reconciled to allow buildings and cities to live and work with water
