Oast Farm house

Location: Kent, UK   Status: Sketch design   Scale: 4-bedroom house; 350sqm

Constraints: AONB, Designated agricultural land, Para 55 house

Baca were invited to design proposals for a farm estate in Kent. In an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and designated agricultural land, a new farmhouse was proposed to replace the run-down farmhouse on the site, in order to provide a heart to the existing cluster of farm buildings and revitalise a farm courtyard.
The building is proposed to be a stunning example of contemporary Kentish vernacular, borrowing the from the oast house commonly associated with clusters of historic farmhouses. The complex Paragraph 55 planning policy will be used to take this proposal into planning.
