The existing structure of the barge, designed to carry heavy loads in the lower deck, informed the new structure. Precast concrete planks provide the ballast to the lightweight steel structure above. High performance insulation, precast concrete thermal mass, aqua heat exchange and solar panels provide a low carbon solution.
